The Federation of Blind Footballers (FBF) was registered in 2018 as a unified platform aimed at developing the Russian school of blind football. We strive to elevate this sport to a new level and actively collaborate with various organizations. The FBF is a member of the All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Football Union” and the international organization
“World Champions League for Club Teams ‘Equal Opportunities’.”
Although blind football has a relatively short history, it is rapidly developing on the international stage. Currently, more than 60 countries are promoting this sport, and since 2004 blind football has been included in the Summer Paralympic Games program.
The Russian national blind football team, composed of players from clubs competing in FBF-sanctioned tournaments, has achieved significant success: it became European champion in 2017, silver medalist at the 2015 European Championship, and a semifinalist at the 2018 World Championship.
Today, the FBF sets forth important objectives: engaging people with visual impairments in parasport for their social adaptation and integration into society, as well as developing blind football in Russia and enhancing the prestige of domestic football on the international stage.
