Born November 7, 1970 in the Altai region.
In 1995, Beregovoy N.N. graduated from Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University with a degree in physical education teacher and in 2016 Russian State Social University with a degree in adaptive physical culture and sport.
Beregovoy N.N. is a master of sports of Russia in blind sports, a veteran of military operations (Ethiopia 1989-1991).
The career of Beregovoy N.N. began with the position of physical education teacher in an eight-year school (1987). After service in the Navy and studying at college, he graduated from university and worked as a physical education teacher and coach at Professional Pedagogical College, and in parallel since 1992 trained a team of totally blind athletes in goalball and torball, as well as visually impaired in futsal.
Teams under the leadership of Nikolai Nikolaevich became Champions of Russia, winners and medalists in various tournaments and competitions. After such successes, Beregovoy N.N. was invited to train the Russian national team and already at the first World Championship in futsal for the visually impaired (Italy, Milan) the team became vice champion, defeating teams such as Italy 3:0 and Brazil 5:3, and two years later managed to repeat the success and become silver medalists of the World Championship (England, Manchester). One of the biggest achievements is the victory at the 2013 World Championship (Japan, Sendai).
Continuing to work as head coach of the Russian national team in team sports for the blind (goalball, torball, mini-football), Nikolai Nikolaevich recruited a group of totally blind children, students of boarding school No. 1, and began conducting daily evening training sessions with them, including weekends. At the first youth world goalball championship (USA, Colorado Springs) the team under his leadership became vice champion, losing only to the hosts, the US national team. Training a team in which 90% were totally blind athletes (5 totally blind out of 6 players), he made it one of the strongest teams, repeatedly winning Championships and Championships of Russia with them, as well as becoming winners and medalists of many All-Russian and international competitions. At the same time, he organized the first women's teams in goalball and torball in Russia and for the first time in Russia held the Russian Championship in goalball and torball among boys and girls.
Beregovoy's student N.N. Maksimova A.V. in 2011 at the world championship in goalball in the senior age category and the European goalball championship won gold and silver medals respectively. In 2013, Maksimova A.V. became the winner of the world championship in goalball in the senior age category and European champion. Athletes of Beregovoy N.N. Gurtovenko A.V. and Dombrovsky G.S. at the 2013 European Championship won gold medals.
While at the World Torball Championship in Argentina (Buenos Aires), Beregovoy N.N. persuaded the mini-football coach of the Argentine national team to show the Russian delegation 5×5 B-1 mini-football (totally blind) and also to play our team. Some time later, thanks to Beregovoy N.N., a tournament in blind mini-football was organized for the first time in Russia. And then the Russian Championship with 6 teams.
Since 2000 to the present, Beregovoy N.N. has been the head coach of the Russian national team. Since 2007, head coach of the "Federation of Blind Football of Russia", since 2018 president of the "Federation of Blind Footballers".
